This year, the Foundation received 21 applications, a significant increase from the four applications per year averaged over the past four years. The surge reflects both the loss of NextLevel Trails funding and a growing demand from Hoosiers for trails that support quality of life, outdoor recreation, alternative transportation, and local economic development. Funded entirely by grassroots support, including donations and the “I Support Trails” Indiana license plate, the grants program continues to invest in community-driven trail solutions statewide.
